Responsible Operations
The Fidelis Partnership embeds sustainability and climate considerations into its core business strategy and manage our business responsibly. Climate risk is treated as a material business issue, influencing risk management, operational resilience and reputational integrity. We also expect vendors to align with these commitments.
Managing our carbon footprint
We calculate our carbon footprint by capturing data from our corporate operations in order to enable carbon offsetting company-wide.
Each year, we offset this by more than 100% through high quality carbon offsets. For the past several years, this has focused on tow offset projects:
- Communitree is Nicaragua’s biggest reforestation programme, providing long term income to local communities and drawing 1.5m tonnes of CO2 back into the earth thanks to the 10 million+ new trees planted by this project.
- Trees for Global Benefits is a long-running cooperative carbon offsetting scheme in Uganda which combines community-led activities to increase carbon sequestration, encourage sustainable land-use practices, and provide farmers with performance-based payments.
Employee engagement and training
The Fidelis Partnership is committed to encouraging employees to support our sustainability ambitions. Every employee has sustainability targets as part of their performance management objectives, and we provide opportunities for employees to engage with our key sustainability initiatives.
We take advantage of local recycling and waste management schemes to avoid unnecessary landfills wherever possible. We use recycled, sustainable sources for paper and have distributed reusable coffee cups and tote bags to all staff. We also regularly test new sustainable products for potential adoption.
